~Art Portfolio ~
Liza "SAT-AKAL" Camba
... a work in constant process!

Hello! Welcome to my portfolio!
Thank you for stopping by. This is an unlisted site that I've shared with you upon request. You are viewing a portfolio project that is in the works and that shows many (tho not all) of the various artworks I have completed. Many of my original paintings have not been uploaded yet, and these days I am working on larger scale works that are collaborative and non-material in nature.
In addition to healing work and teaching yoga, I am a visionary-conceptual artist trained in performance art and in multimedia (covering video, photography, installation, mixed media, sound, etc.) and I have been painting, drawing, and illustrating since I was about 4 years old.
In my teens, I got it in my mind to be a unique breed of "organic-nature-based artist-architect" and also to create non-material art to convey my message. By this time, I was already vastly influenced by the works of Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Thich Nhat Hanh, Aung San Suu Kyi, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr, Nelson Mandela, Ella Bhatt, Vandana Shiva, Jean Francois Millet, Victor Hugo, farming communities, tree-lovers, and earth-builders. What was a young woman to do?
So I went to a liberal arts college where I created art, got philosophical in life, and engaged in social justice work. School was a learning ground to explore possibilities, to connect dots, and to figure out where did I belong as a dot in this plan. Then it became important to get "real world experience" which led to me investigating sweatshops and advocating for the rights of disenfranchised immigrants and workers in the U.S. and abroad. This was an enlightening experience that made me more interested in exploring how the body and the spirit were being affected by the perspective, or allusion, of various paradigms of experience. Eventually, I applied to school again and was offered some amazing scholarships. Despite all this, I sensed something different "calling" and I just could not shake this feeling as much as I wanted to resist it. My path to being in service as a healer chose me.
The rest I'll leave to your imagination. I have found a home in Service to humanity and to growing Love and creative consciousness through the healing arts - through yoga, pranayama, meditation, metaphysical healing, and beyond. While I am a healing arts practitioner, my art work that I am still actively engaged in, also relates to the theme of healing. These are selected works (below) from my portfolio, with the most recent art piece dating back to 2008. More recent pieces have not made their way yet to being uploaded. The next section is on the lighter side of making art and playing with color - sharing it with the kids!.... AND the next section below that are a compilation of some graphic design pieces to support the growth of conscious community, yoga, and healing (for flyers, newsletters, etc.)
Please feel free to email me if you have any questions. Oh! By the way, the photo above, to the left is of me with a friend in front of my mandala painting called "Rebirth" - it is about 6 feet wide and about 3.5 ft tall, completed in 2009. I completed it over the span of 3 months. It is a catalyst piece that represents the birth of a new direction of art-making in my career as an artist.
